The album was reocrded at the New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in LA with James Cleveland and the Southern California Community Choir. The album sold over 2 million copies earning it a 2x Platinum certification, and also earned Franklin the 1973 Grammy Award for Best Soul Gospel Performance.
