The album consists of two separate live performances, pieced together for the album. The first portion was recorded in Teddy Pendergrass' hometown, Philadelphia, in 1978, and the second portion was recorded in Los Angeles in 1979. For a live album, it was moderately successful, peaking at #3 on the Soul album charts.
